In a motel in Montana for the night. The girl in the room next door has a pug named Officer,such a good name for a dog.
I absolutely love this trip, but wow, driving all day can really fry your brain. I can barely type right now. I should hopefully be in Seattle by tomorrow. sleep time. |

Made it to Madison, Wisconsin. 1,927 more miles to go according to Google maps.
drove 530 miles yesterday, over 600 today. Going to aim for about 700 for the next few days. This trip has been a lot of fun so far, except for the "check engine" warning that came on 20 minutes after I started driving. Hopefully the car will make it all the way to Washington. Sleep time. |

I finished packing all my books, clothes and music equipment and in about 9 hours I'm about to get in a car and drive about 3,000 miles to Seattle. The whole thing seems so surreal,I can't believe its actually happening. I've spent the whole summer trying to figure out if this move is what I should really be doing with my life, especially considering the things I gave up to go. But what this summer made me realize is that most of my regrets in life are about things that I didn't do. For example telling a certain someone how I felt about her, I never told her and now it's too late really and kind of pointless because I'm leaving. However, the things I've done in my life and regretted have been easier to get over, because at the time it was it was my decision and it was what I wanted. Also, having too much free time is bad because you just sit around and think and think and get too involved with your own thoughts and start over-analyzing things. Over-analyzation= bad news. Is Over-analyzation even a word? Livejournal thinks I'm trying to spell over-canalization. Lesson to self: Make sure to stay busy in Seattle.
Lesson 2: Stay on topic.
Anyway, this final week has been pretty good. I got a job escorting French kids around Boston, which ended up being awesome. I got paid $100 a day to visit the Museum of Science, and the Top of the Prudential Center and other random Boston shizz. Going to the top of the Prudential never really interested me before, but when I was up there I was completely fascinated with watching Boston from so high up. It seemed so much more peaceful and less busy than it does when you are walking through the Boston streets. Also, when we went to Faneuil Hall I saw a huge ass dog pee on some tourists, it was amazing, and would not have been as hilarious if the tourists weren't completely angry that the dog peed on them. But they also may have been angry that I was laughing so hard. I'm an asshole?
New Thing learned: French kids LOVE Dunkin Donuts, a lot. Maybe even sexually. Also French people flirt on a level Americans probably can't even comprehend.
I was planning to write a lot more but I'm insanely tired, ill finish the rest when I get to Seattle. |
